A Police car has collided with another motorist while responding to an emergency call on Speke Boulevard, Liverpool.

The unnamed police driver was responding to a call of an undisclosed nature, when their marked police car collided with an Audi driven by a member of the public.

The incident occurred at 5:23 pm on Saturday evening, with witnesses suggesting the Audi may have hit the drivers side of the police vehicle, though the nature of the collision remains unclear.

The officer driving the police car and the passenger of the Audi are in a serious, but not life threatening condition in Whiston hospital.

The driver of the Audi was described by paramedics attending the scene as walking wounded.
