Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Netherton.

The 31-year-old victim's body was found after police received reports that a man had been assaulted at a house in St Augustine's Way.

A 22-year-old woman, local to the area, was arrested at the scene and two men, aged 34 and 48, were later arrested in Litherland and Crosby.

All three suspects are undergoing questioning and house-to-house inquiries are being carried out.

Results of a post-mortem to establish cause of death are expected later today.

Detectives believe the man may have been assaulted during an argument at the house.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
