A group of Liverpool fans are set to press forward with their campaign to see George Gillett and Tom Hicks leave Anfield for good.
Supporters union Spirit of Shankly have planned a demonstration to take place during the Reds' Carling Cup tie with Leeds United tomorrow night on the theme that the club could suffer the same potential downfall as their Elland Road opponents did.
Leeds were one of the biggest teams throughout the 1960s and 70s but have since fallen into League One after taking no large debts and Liverpool fams are fearful that the same could happen to their club after it was saddled with debts from refinancing deals agreed by Gillett and Hicks.
A statement on the group's website has has called on supporters going to tomorrow night's match to make their views on the American owners heard with flags and chants.
It said: "Liverpool Football Club can be the next Leeds United. Some may believe it is far off, never to happen to us.
"Other clubs are spending heavily to become part of the top four - Manchester City and Tottenham to name just two, whilst we only spend what we make from players sales."
