Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has teamed up with Juice FM to help launch a city wide hunt for the Next Big Urban Star.

Babel, a keen part time rapper himself, has joined forces with the radio station and the charity Young Addaction to unearth new talent from the city's hip hop, grime and bassline music scenes.

Demos can be submitted at juicefm.com with live heats to take place in September at the Contemporary Urban Centre on Greenland Street.

The judges will be Babel, Terrance Wynett from Voices in Action/Young Addaction, record executive Joseph Ogugua and Mark Kaye from Juice FM.

They will select artists and talent from three live heats to go forward to the grand finale from which a the overall winner will receive a six month mentorship from Babel who has worked with UK rapper Sway.

They will also get a chance to audition for a recording contract with Universal Music.
