David Guetta was forced to delay his Creamfields set after overcrowding led to fears of a crush last night.

The French DJ came on stage in the Cream tent just after 11pm with thousands of fans anticipating his hit songs 'When Love Takes Over', 'I Gotta Feeling' and 'Sexy Bitch'.

But he was forced to stop after just 20 minutes after crowds had gathered in their hundreds outside the tent trying to get inside.

With security fearing a crush the police rushed in to put a stop to the gig before Guetta eventually re-emerged to play a full set to the delight of his many fans.

Cream also insisted this morning that reports of fans being sprayed with pepper spray and multiple injuries were incorrect.

no-one got stabbed, there were a few minor crush injuries & the Police / Production were totally right to delay the show. Trust me, I know!

They stopped letting people in 30 mins before he started even though there was loads of room inside. Security caused the problem. Bad event

I was at the front of the crowd and almost got crushed. Guetta DID come back and play a belter. Should've been on the mainstage.

i got the tent at 10.15 and there was still plenty of room at the sides at 11pm when guetta came on. f;in joke.

I saw this happen, pepper spray was used, a girl ended up on the floor and security refused to move people from the back after warnings.

There was definitely one stabbing as I spoke to the police. There was also fighting in one of the tents as I actually saw it happen.

I was backstage when this all happened... it was not Guetta's fault. The polie wouldn't let him back in stage. He was absolutely gutted.
