Work is well under way at Sefton Park in a bid to return the park to its past glory.
The £50 million project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and is expected to last 50 weeks.
Being renovated are the existing rockeries, grottos, caves, waterfalls and all of the footpaths.
The monuments around the park are aslo being restored whilst benches, railings and fountains are being replaced.
A new cafe is being built in place of the old one and a kiosk with toilets will be built at the end of the lake.
The lake which has recently been filled again after it had been drained will have all the fish returned to it.
