A fierce Liverpool fan bought his wife a pet pooch called 'Fellaini' despite being allergic to dogs after losing an FA Cup final bet.
John Somers, 60, went BARKING mad after watching his bitter rivals reach the Wembley showdown against Chelsea.
Following the Everton 1-0 win over Liverpool in in February, John was certain Everton wouldn't go any further and swore to buy a pet for his wife Ann, if they made it to London.
The Toffees went on to beat Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, and win a hard fought Wembley semi final against Manchester United.
And the dramatic penalty shootout sealed John's fate and he dillegently brought home 'Fellaini' the Shit Tzu from an animal rescue centre the next day.
Adamant he won't be watching the final, John said: "I was gutted when Everton beat us as I thought we could have won the cup this year.
"Ann is a big Everton supporter and she was on cloud nine so me with my big mouth tried to take her down a peg or two by promising to buy her a dog if they reached the final.
"Everyone knows how badly allergic to dogs I am, but I was so sure they wouldn't get any further.
"When Everton won on penalties I couldn't believe it. I was so sure United would have wiped the floor with them but it was just my luck.
"I sucked it up the following day and went and got her a rescue dog from an animal centre.
"To be fair the dog is quite nice and after I've taken my allergy tablets I can even be in the same room as it.
"I cannot bring myself to call out his name in public.
"Ann thought it'd be nice to call him 'Fellaini' because he just sits there placidly when we put a wig on him."
