The boss of a chauffeur company that drives for Wayne and Coleen Rooney has been banned from the road for drink driving.
John Murphy, Managing director of Professional Chauffeur Services Ltd, was stopped in his Mercedes Benz saloon after police spotted him dangerously weaving through traffic.
Murphy, 59, was found to be almost twice the legal limit and pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at Prestatyn Magistrates Court.
The Rooneys used Murphy's company to ferry them and their guests at their plush Italian wedding day back in June last year.
Murphy also arranged all transport for Coleen’s Hen celebrations, providing a fleet of Mercedes to escort her entire party to the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.
After stopping the car on the A55 in North Wales, officers noticed Murphy was struggling to stand while giving a breath test. It read 62mg - 27mg over the limit.
Magistrates imposed a 16-month driving ban and fined Murphy #500 and ordered him to pay #75 costs.
