Crocked Everton star Phil Jagielka has picked up a hat-trick of gongs at the club's annual end-of-season awards dinner.

Having scooped the prestigious Player of the Season gong, the 26-year-old also walked away with Player's Player, and Supoorters Player of the Year.

Instrumental in getting the Blues to the FA Cup final, the defender has been ever-present at the heart of the back line helping his side claw their way up to fifth in the Premiership.

But having forced his way into the England fold, his second season with the Merseysiders came to an abrupt end following a serious knee injury sustained in April.

His heartbrake of missing the final against Chelsea was somewhat eased after walking away with not only the awards but the promise of a lucrative new contract offer.

Speaking on stage at the awards Jagielka said: "The injury gives me good days and bad days but I've got great people around me - my friends, family and team-mates.

"Hopefully the boys can win the FA Cup this year and I'll be back next year and we can do it again."

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright revealed his plans to keep his star man at the club for as long as possible and that talks are underway over an improved contract.

Kenwright said: "Hopefully there will be more than one new contract in the pipeline for next season"

"At this moment I am talking to a few players and Phil is one."
