
The mother of a four-year-old girl drowned in a bath at a house in Wirral has been charged with murdering her daughter.
Police charged Laura Fletcher over the death of little Chloe Fletcher whose body was recovered from the home they shared in Wallasy
Earlier the first pictures of Chloe had been released by police.
Officials say the child was "known" to social workers and her mother was being questioned on suspicion of murdering her at their home in Wallasey.
Police Crime Scene Investigators concluded their examination of the three-bedroomed house where Chloe died in Oakland Avenue.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a 22-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of four-year-old
Chloe Fletcher. The post mortem results revealed the cause of death was drowning.
"The child's mother, Laura Fletcher of Oakdale Avenue, Wallasey, has been charged with murder."
The Crown Propsection Service Merseyside added:"Following a careful review of all the evidence it has been decided that Laura Fletcher should be charged with the murder of Chloe Fletcher."
Laura Fletcher was due to appear at Wirral Magistrates' Court.
