A Labour town hall ethics watchdog has been cleared of misconduct after she branded opposition councillors 'b**tards.'
National standards investigators will take not action against Cllr Louise Baldock who said "all Lib/Dems are "b*****ds" in an internet blog diary.
Cllr Baldock, sits on Liverpool City Council’s Standards Committee and is a regional ethics spokeswoman.
The Standards Board for England found the comments were "gratuitously offensive".
A report said it did not condone the remarks but found she has not breached the Members Code of Conduct.
The Standards Board said many of the comments fell "outside the scope of the Code" or were part of the "cut and thrust" of politics, but did warn her to think about the "negative impression" it could give of the council.
