The Queen Mother was a big fan of The Scaffold's 1967 hit "Thank U Very Much" and loved nothing more than belting out her own rendition after dinner.
The revelation comes after Scaffold band member Mike McCartney visited the Queen Mother's home The Castle of Mey.
Photographer McCartney, is the brother of ex-Beatle Paul mccartney, but used the name Mike McGear in The Scaffold.
He made the discovery while touring the Highlands to take pictures for a new book and visited the Caithness castle
Staff at the former home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother told how she was partial to singing "Thank U Very Much" as a way expressing her gratitude after her evening meal
Mike said: "I was told that after dinner the Queen Mother would insist on going solo for the 'Thank U very much for our Gracious Queen' line at the climax of the record.
"I didn't have the heart to say that the actual words of my song were 'Thank U very much for our gracious team.'
"She would sing it to her daughter and look lovingly into her eyes.
"But its amazing to think my silly little song was being sung by a lady of such importance.
"I wrote it in a two-up two down house and I could never have imagined it was being sung by a royal in castle."
