A 22 year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and robbery which left one teenager fighting for his life.

Marcos Ringle, 16, was found unconscious with severe head injuries on Coronation Road in Crosby, Merseyside after he was beaten and his new bike stolen.

He was left in a "critical condition" in hospital after the incident at 3am on 15th July.

Martin McHaig appeared at Sefton Magistrates Court charged with the offences and is also charged with the attempted robbery of a 63 year-old man a few days earlier in Everton on 12th July.

He has also been charged with the robbery of two women, one aged 40, in a park inbetween Netherfield Road and Great Homer Street and a 68-year-old on Walton Breck Road, Anfield on the same day.

McHaig will appear before Liverpool Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on 31st August.
