Four teenagers were injured in a Liverpool shoot-out following a rumoured dispute between drug gangs.
The attacks happened on Saturday night in Bootle, Merseyside over a fall-out between cannabis gangs.
Three teenagers aged 17 and one 15-year-old were taken to hospital for shotgun wounds, which police said were not thought to be life-threatening.
Police said they were keeping an "open mind" about it was a targeted attack.
Emergency services were called at around 11.30pm following reports that a 17-year-old had been shot.
The other three teenagers then came forward seeking medical attention for shotgun wounds.
Police believe these injuries happened in the same incident.
The attack is the latest in a string of gun crime incidents in the area.
A man was shot in the chest on Stanley Road on 2nd August, and a 29-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and chest in Orrell Road on 27th July.
Chief Supt of Merseyside Police Julie Cooke said: "This is a disgraceful act that has led to four young men receiving medical treatment for shotgun injuries.
"Although their injuries are not thought to be life threatening, the consequences could have been much worse.
"A full investigation has been launched to establish exactly what happened prior to these males seeking medical attention and we are currently keeping an open mind as to whether this attack was targeted.
"The Force, along with the community, will not tolerate the use of guns and the fear those who use them spread.
"I urge anyone who has any information that can help us in our investigation to come forward, anonymously, if necessary. All information will be acted on."
