A man is being questioned by police after a woman was shot in the stomach at a house in Liverpool.
The victim, 47, was found with a gunshot wound to her stomach after emergency services were called to a house in Allerton.
She was rushed to hospital on Friday and underwent emergency treatment.
A 47-year-old man was arrested after police arrived at the house in Allerton at around 9.50pm.
Officers confiscated a rifle from the scene after arresting the suspect on suspicion of possession of a firearm, assault and possession of cannabis.
He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The woman's injuries are not life-threatening and she is in a stable condition.
Police were hopeful of speaking to her to find out what went on as soon as she was able to.
The scene was cordoned off and officers were making door-to-door enquiries looking for witnesses.
