Bookings soar at Aintree

Delighted bosses at Aintree say bookings have soared in 2012 for weddings and conferences.

Wedding bookings in particular have seen a dramatic increase, 17% up on last year.

The trend looks set to continue, with advance bookings for 2013 already ahead of what they were last year.

The venue predicts next year’s wedding bookings will be up 22% on 2012, as more people chose to tie the knot in civil ceremonies and receptions at the home of the Grand National.

Aintree puts its success down to a number of factors. Debbie Slee, conference and events manager at Aintree Racecourse said: "Aintree offers both a modern and historic venue which really appeals to wedding couples. That combined with the huge green spaces we have for wedding pictures and the fact that we can be flexible, able to cater for small gatherings or receptions of up to 450 people, has made us a popular choice."

According to Aintree conference bookings over the last six months have also been well ahead of company targets and they are seeing high growth in this area. Debbie Slee said: “Aintree and the Grand National have a strong brand and reputation which has put us in a good position to exploit the opportunities that are out there. The creation of the Equestrian Centre has also helped, giving us the capacity to hold major conferences and exhibitions, giving us strong growth in the large scale event’s market.”
