A Merseyrail guard is due in court tomorrow (Thursday) charged with manslaughter following the death of teenager Georgia Varley at an underground station in Liverpool.
Schoolgirl Georgia, 16, was killed in October last year when she slipped between the platform and train at James Street station on the Merseyrail network.
The sixth former was heading into the city centre with a large group of people after leaving a friend's 18th birthday party, when she died.
It is thought that Georgia, from Wallasey, Wirral, mistakenly stepped-off the train at a stop before the one she wanted and slipped when she tried to get back on.
Merseyrail guard Christopher James McGee, 44, was suspended immediately following his arrest in November and has been charged with manslaughter by gross negligence.
McGee, of Edenhurst Avenue, Wallasey, will appear before Liverpool Magistrates Court tomorrow.
