Police have seized hundreds of Cannabis plants after a multi-million pound drugs factory was discovered in Liverpool flats during a raid.
Officers executed a warrant at a property on Derby Road, Bootle on Wednesday 4 January.
In the top floor, officers found four rooms used in a production line of cannabis cultivation, including a nursery and three rooms of cannabis plants at various stages of growth and harvesting.
In total, 619 plants and three kilos of harvested Cannabis crop were recovered with an estimated street value of around £300,000.
The factory, which is believed to have been in operation for some time, could potentially produce an annual yield with a street value of more than £1million.
Four men were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident.
A 52-year-old from Anfield, a 66-year-old from Bootle, a 50-year-old from Fairfield and a 51-year-old, of no fixed abode, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of Cannabis.
All four have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are appealing to anyone with any information about this incident to come forward.
Chief Inspector Zoe Thornton said: "We take the cultivation of Cannabis extremely seriously and urge anyone who may have seen, heard or smelt anything suspicious in the area to contact us.
"Cannabis and its associated crime brings misery to our communities and we are determined to put those involved in cultivating Cannabis and other elements of the drugs trade before the courts.
"To do this we need the help of residents who may have vital information about those involved in the drugs trade to call us, anonymously if preferred, so we can take action and get these people and their drugs off our streets."
Anyone with any information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
