The family of Norris Green man fatally shot one year ago have made a fresh appeal for information.
Twenty year-old Eddie Pybis was shot as he travelled as a passenger in a silver Volvo along Utting Avenue in Anfield.
He died six days later from wounds to his abdomen and arm.
Eddie leaves behind his mum Mary, his dad Edward, his two sisters Kirsty and Megan, and his two nephews Elliott and new-born Eddie.
His parents say their lives have been turned upside down since the death of their youngest child.
Mum Mary Pybis said: "Every day without Eddie is really difficult and I sometimes struggle to think how I'm going to carry on but I have to for the sake of the other children and my grandchildren.
"Eddie's sister Kirsty had a little boy on Christmas Eve and they've called him Eddie in memory of him.
"Although I'm happy to have a new grandson my heart is broken. I am still grieving the death of my own son and my life has been on hold since he died.
"He was still really only a boy.
"Last Christmas Eddie was so happy and this Christmas we spent it visiting his grave. I would hate for any other mother to go through what I am going through.
"Not a day goes past without us all thinking about Eddie. The house is quiet without him - he was the life and soul.
"Someone must know who took Eddie away from us and I beg, on behalf of us all, to get in touch with the police and help us.
"I will never get over losing my youngest child and only son but knowing who did this will help me, his dad and his sisters get some closure so we can start living again after this nightmare."
Eddie's dad, Edward Clelland, added:"We are all devastated. Christmas is a time of year for families and it was really difficult not having Eddie with us.
"We miss him every day. Whoever did this is still walking around and Eddie is in the ground. He was so young and had all his life ahead of him.
Seven men have been arrested to date on suspicion of murder and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
They are a 26-year-old man from Walton, a 36-year-old man from Toxteth, a 19-year-old man from Stoneycroft, two 23 year olds from Wavertree and Clubmoor, a 22-year-old from Clubmoor and a 20-year-old from Huyton.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with any information about the shooting.
They are particularly interested in the movements of a black BMW 7 series that was seen driving erratically in the area shortly before the incident.
The BMW has a registration plate of DX57 UHU and had been stolen from the Knutsford area on 2nd December 2010.
Officers are also appealing for information about an incident that took place at around 1.30pm to 1.45pm on January 3, 2011 on Larkhill Close involving a silver Ford Focus with a registration plate of NH57 HKX.
Police are keen to trace two men who were travelling in a dark coloured saloon car, possibly being driven by a third man, who smashed the front near-side passenger window of the car.
It is believed that Eddie Pybis was the front seat passenger in the car at the time of the incident.
Both cars subsequently drove off at speed along Larkhill Lane towards Townsend Lane.
DCI Neil Clark, leading the investigation, said: "It is the one-year anniversary since Eddie Pybis was fatally shot on Utting Avenue and our thoughts remain with his family as they struggle to come to terms with what has happened to their son and brother.
"We are following a number of positive lines of enquiry but still need members of the community to take a stand against these kind of incidents and give us information, no matter how small it may seem, as it may be the vital missing piece to our investigation."
Anyone with any information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 8676, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
