The Emigration Group, who has offices in Chester and London, welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement which reflects Australia’s booming economy and low unemployment.
The increase in visa places includes an extra 12,000 for Skilled Migrants and an extra 4,000 places for families. The majority of the increase is allocated to Skilled Migrants to help meet the expected increase in demand for skilled professionals, given strong employment growth.
They have also recognised the importance of family and allocated additional visas, mainly to the Partner and Child categories within the family stream in order to meet the growing demand.
Brits with a job down under will also be able to obtain a visa much quicker under the government’s new plans. The Subclass 457 Visa, a business sponsorship visa which is popular with Brits and will see migrants having their application fast- tracked by a new processing centre in Brisbane. The centre has a target for fast turnaround with the aim of processing visa’s within 10 days.
Director of The Emigration Group, Paul Arthur said: “We have already had lots of interest this year from people across the UK who are looking to relocate to Australia, and expect this to rise following the announcement. These changes will make it much easier and quicker for people to obtain a visa, so there has never been a better time to make the move. We would encourage people who are serious about a move Down Under to speak to The Emigration Group as soon as possible to find out if they are eligible.”
