Hilton Liverpool has welcomed a new executive chef to head up its overall F&B strategy.
Paula O'Neill brings with her over 13 years experience having worked at Hilton hotels across Great Britain. Throughout this time, she has been commended numerous times for her commitment to delivering excellence through her work, most notably being named Head of Department of the Year Hilton Manchester Airport 2008/2009 and being nominated for Irish Restaurant Head Chef of the Year at the HACMA JANUS AWARDS 2005.
During her career, O'Neill also gained valuable international experience as head chef on Motor Yacht ARIA based in Monaco and in the role of Personal Chef to Swiss aristocracy. The latter allowed O*Neill the opportunity to gain culinary experience and experiment with food native to the German, French and Italian cultures.
Originally from Randalstown in Northern Ireland, O'Neill said: "I am incredibly happy to be joining the Hilton team here in Liverpool.
"The Liverpool One area is a huge attraction for tourists and Liverpudlians alike, and I'm looking forward to developing The Exchange restaurant offering to incorporate simple, honest food which can be appreciated by all."
Flying into her new position from Hilton Manchester Airport, O'Neill will report directly to operations manager, Cedric Horgnies and will have overall responsibility for 15 chefs and seven kitchen assistants.
General manager Marcus Magee said: "O'Neill has built up an enviable reputation within the wider Hilton Group and beyond for her dedication to delivering excellent quality food, customer satisfaction and her team building skills.
"We are delighted to have her head up the overall F&B strategy for the hotel and we're looking forward to seeing O'Neill's experience enhance The Exchange restaurant offering."
O*Neill is also actively involved in the Hilton in the Community Foundation which has seen her produce a charity seafood recipe book, raising £600 for worthy causes.
