A Liverpool man who was shot in the legs during an armed raid has died - one month after he was attacked.
Asif Bashir, 25, was discharged from hospital following the attack by three men in August but police confirmed that he died on Friday at Manchester Royal Infirmary after complaints he felt unwell.
A post-mortem revealed the Allerton man succumbed to his injuries from the gunshot wound a month earlier.
It is understood three men with a handgun forced their way into a house in Edinburgh Road, Kensington, when Mr Bashir was visiting a friend who lived in the property on 6th August.
During the confrontation, the 25-year-old was shot in the legs and had his jewellery stolen by the thugs.
He was taken to a Liverpool hospital by ambulance and later discharged.
A 21-year-old man has already appeared in Liverpool Magistrates court charged with wounding with intent, robbery, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition on 7th August.
The victim appeared to make a full recovery from the attack but only a month after the incident died of complications from the gunshot wound.
Officers have now launched a murder investigation and want to speak to the other two men involved in the death of the 25-year-old.
Anyone who has any information about this incident and particularly to the two outstanding offenders is asked to contact the Matrix team on 0151 777 5699 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
