Tens of thousands of happy revellers are expected to descend upon Liverpool's streets for the Mathew Street Festival 2010 this weekend.
Celebrating the city’s 18th annual music event, with six outdoor stages and over 100 bands playing at venues across the city centre, music fans will be out in force see acts paying tribute to legendary bands including The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Blondie and David Bowie.
Over 100,000 people are expected to crowd the streets today and tomorrow at Europe's biggest free city centre festival.
The outdoor stages are operating from 11.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m, with indoor venues offering live music from 12 noon until the early hours.
Festival goers are asked to drink sensibly and not to bring glass into the festival area. Use plastic bottles and dispose of them in the recycling bins provided.
Alcohol can be consumed within the Festival Site between 11am and 6pm.
When leaving the festival licensed area of the city and after 6pm on the event days, alcohol may not be consumed on the streets – with fines of up to £500 for breaching these laws.
Now ... Here comes the Sun! Get yourself into town to enjoy the best festival year yet!
