Rough sleeper dies in Liverpool city centre

A man who was sleeping rough in Liverpool city centre has died.

Merseyside Police confirmed that Ian Roberts passed away on Wednesday, January 8 with no suspicious circumstances connected to the incident.

Prior to his death, the 52-year-old is understood to have spent time living in temporary accommodation.

An appeal has now been launched to trace Mr Roberts’ next of kin.

“The Liverpool & Wirral Coroner’s Office are appealing for contact information regarding the next of kin for the late Ian Roberts,” read a police statement.

“Mr Roberts, 52, of no fixed abode, sadly died on Wednesday 8 January in Liverpool city centre. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
