Scrambler bike rider in hospital after car collision

A scrambler bike rider has been taken to hospital after colliding with a car close to Sefton Park.

Police were called to the junction of Ullet Road and Linnet Lane at around 5.15pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash between the two vehicles.

The rider of the scrambler bike was taken to hospital where their injuries are being assessed but are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers investigating the incident have yet to disclose the age and gender of the injured rider but are pursuing house-to-house, witness and CCTV enquiries.

Roads Policing Sergeant Ryan Lowry said: “We are keen to speak with anyone that witnessed the collision or any sightings of scrambler bikes in the area around 5pm.

“I would like to reassure our community that we will take positive action if any offences are identified.”
