The attractive, red building was built in 1934 and began its existence as a flag and plastics factory.
Amazon Recording Studio was based in Kirkby from 1982-1992, but got a new lease of life when it moved to Parr Street and became Parr Street Recording Studios.
Many famous artists have recorded here including Barry Manilow, Coldplay, The Coral, Diana Ross, Echo and the Bunnymen, Grace Jones, Pete Wylie to name but a few.
The studios were threatened with closure after the owners of TGP and Hit and Run (part-owned by Genesis rock star Phil Collins) earmarked the facility for the development of 47 flats and offices.
But creative entrepreneurs Gary Millar and Steve McFarlane launched a successful campaign to save the building.
Luckily for Liverpool they were able to save it from demolition. It is now not only a recording studio but a fabulous hotel and houses 3345 Bar and Restaurant and Studio 2. Both bars have entertainment.
