Cheshire families are being invited to take part in Barnardo’s Big Toddle, which is a massive fundraising event taking place over four days at Chester Zoo.
There is still time to sign up for the annual short sponsored walk for under 5’s, which this year takes place from 6th - 9th July.
For the first time the event has a fancy dress theme – swashbuckling pirates!
Among those taking part will be TV star and Barnardo’s supporter, Terri Dwyer, best known for her role in Hollyoaks. She says:
“As well as being a fantastic and fun family day out, the Big Toddle is all for a great cause, helping some of the region’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children.”
Toddlers and their parents will be able to spend the rest of the day at the Zoo and see the animals following their walk.
All funds raised will go towards supporting Barnardo’s Early Years work. Cheshire-resident, Terri, adds:
“I took part last year and you can tell the kids come away full of pride at what they’ve done for other children.”
As well as the Chester Zoo event there is also the opportunity to take part in the Big Toddle at Knowsley Safari Park on 6th July.
Nurseries, playgroups and large family groups are also being encouraged to hold their own smaller Toddles.
