TV stars battle it out at Celebrity Football tournament for BBC Sports Relief

Stars from BBC One's Waterloo Road are pitching themselves against BBC3 comedy Ideal and soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale in a Celebrity Football Tournament for Sports Relief this weekend.

On Saturday 20th March 2010, you can come down and cheer along as they battle for glory at the Regional Athletics Arena at Sport City, Manchester.

Hunky teachers and pupils of Waterloo Road swapping their books for boots will include: William Ash (Chris Mead), Tom Milner (Paul Langley), Dean Smith (Phillip Ryan), William Rush (Josh Stevenson), Jack McMullen (Finn Sharkey), Ben Ryan Davies (Ronan Burley) and Lucien Laviscount (Jonah Kirby).

Comedian Johnny Vegas will be joined by his BBC Three’s Ideal co-stars Ryan Pope (Psycho Paul), Michael Kofi (Xavier), desperate to earn their place on the winning side.

Rival soapstars hoping to thrash the competition include: Coronation Street's Michael le Vell (Kevin Webster), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw), Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland),Craig Gazey(Graeme Proctor) and Emmerdale's Kelvin Fletcher (Andy Sugden), Adam Thomas (Adam Barton), Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy), James Hooton (Sam Dingle) and Lyndon Ogbourne (Nathan Wilde)

Doors will open at 11.30am and this energetic event will be hosted by Auf Wiedersen Pet's Tim Healy who will be cracking jokes and keeping all the teams in check.

You can also see how former Liverpool star John Barnes, Hull's Dean Windass and Manchester City's Richard Edghill fair as "Celebrity Managers" for the day.

Entertainment will be provided by Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson, with MOBO's Best Female Nominee, the gorgeous Karen David performing her latest single. Both Karen and George will be joining Waterloo Road in series 6 of the drama which is due to hit the screens in the Autumn.

Co-stars from all the shows will be there to support Waterloo Road FC, Coronation Street FC, Emmerdale FC and Johnny Vegas' Ideal FC, and will be signing autographs throughout the day.
