A leading charity is calling for 'It's a Knock Out' entries.

Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) is looking for teams of between six and ten people to take part in the fundraising event, on August 22.

The competition is open to anyone, including local businesses, sports clubs and community groups.

Battles will take place in water pools and giant inflatables - in the style of the original Knock Out television series.

LCVS's Clare Beavan said the charity is hoping to match the success of its inaugural event last year, when £10,000 was raised for good causes.

She added: "Everyone had a great day and we managed to raise vital funds for local charities including the RNLI, Claire House and Henshaws Society for Blind People.

"We are hoping to do the same this year or even better."

Entries cost £250 per team and entrants are expected to raise about £500 for their chosen charities.

It all takes place at Mossley Hill Athletics Club.

Anyone interested can contact Clare Beavan on 0151 227 5177.
