Knowsley Safari Park celebrates camel birth

A male camel has been born at Knowsley Safari Park.

Bosses said the animal - a 'Bactrian' camel - is likely to be a big hit with visitors at the venue.

General Manager, David Ross, said: "The good news is that the little fellow is doing well and that his mum is doing a really good job of looking after him."

The unnamed camel boosts the park's herd to eight. He is currently on view to visitors to the park's safari drive.

Bactrian camels are endangered species but many have been domesticated to live in safari parks similar to Knowsley around the world.
