
Lancashire singer and radio presenter Sally Jaxx is set to take the plunge and dive with three-metre-long sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium.
The former Bucks Fizz member and 2BR weekend breakfast show presenter is travelling to the Cheshire Oaks aquarium to dive in their giant 3.8 million litre Caribbean Reef display on Friday 12th February.
Sally, from Ightenhill near Burnley, will be sharing the tank with more than 10 different species of sharks and rays including nurse sharks, lemon sharks, zebra sharks, giant stingrays and three-metre-long sand tiger sharks.
She said: "I’ve always loved the water and have done a lot of snorkelling but I’ve never dived and it’s always been one of my lifelong ambitions.
"As a surprise my boyfriend arranged this shark diving experience for me at the aquarium as a Christmas present and I’ve been looking forward to it ever since.
"I’m a bit nervous but also really excited and can’t wait to experience what it’s really like to get so close to those huge sharks and rays!"
In addition to having the largest shark and ray collection In Europe the vast display is also home to around 700 fish including angelfish, pufferfish, moray eels, trevally, triggerfish and many more.
Sally will be performing at The Jungle ahead of Castleford Tigers match against Warrington on Saturday 13th February.
