Crowds of young and old packed out Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park to witness the world's first ABBA concert for kids.

The Leisure park turned its sports hall into an amazing theatre with full stage and seating to create a brillant atmosphere as the mums, dad, grans and grandads with children of all ages queued up eagerly awaiting The Honey Honey Show which features the adorable Benny Bear.

Once the lights dimmed you could hear the kids excitedly whispering "Where's Benny Bear?" This show is a mixture of a pop concert, pantomime and a fun cinema visit – all in one incredible energy-packed show that's a great way to introduce the little ones to ABBA classics.

The star of the show is definitely the lovable Benny Bear, who appears on stage with Agnetha, Bjorn, Frida and Benny. From the moment the cast opened the act with the famous hit Waterloo a very lively, all singing and all dancing show followed.

The Abba band blasted out hit after hit from the group such as Honey Honey, SOS, I Do I Do I Do I Do, Lay All Your Love On Me, Fernando, Voulez-Vous, while the cheeky Benny Bear made guest appearance during the songs playing the Saxaphone and Guitar.

The audience were on their feet when the foursome taught the energetic bunch a dance routine to Ring Ring. Ending the first half of the show with Money Money Money, the Abba band (and Benny Bear) took a well derserved 20 minute break.

Incredibly, the second half was even more energetic, opening with the classic Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and Super Trouper the kids were asked to shout to the band if they saw Benny Bear during their next song as he kept disappearing. As they sung Chiquitita, the naughty bear kept appearing on stage to the amusement of the youngsters shouting 'He's Behind You'.

Even the adults were dancing in the aisles while Benny Bear came into the crowd for bear hugs and high fives from his young fans. The Abba hits came thick and fast with I Have A Dream, Take A Chance On Me (even a rap version) Mamma Mia, Does Your Mama Know and the ever-popular Dancing Queen. As the cast said their goodbyes and left the stage the bouncing audience erupted in applause, stamping their feet demanding an encore.

For the final time Agnetha, Bjorn, Frida and Benny accompanied with Dave on bass, Barry on Drums and, of course, Benny Bear appeared on stage for the finale (which was the most appropiate) Thank You For The Music.

The show is suitable for the whole family and children aged 4 to 12 years. If you are looking for a fantastic live show for all of the family this is it.

9/10
