Children's favourite Peppa Pig is on her way to Birkenhead.

The popular TV star and her little brother, George, will be on hand at The Grange and Pyramids Shopping Centres to give local youngsters a half term holiday treat.

The duo, who appear in a cartoon on Channel Five, will be at the busy shopping centres between 11 am and 4 pm on June 6 (Wednesday).

The UK based cartoon, thought to be worth £200m, is now shown in 180 countries and last year, a theme park, Peppa Pig World was opened in Hampshire with 60 rides.
Aimed at children aged two and above, the programme won a children’s Bafta in 2005 for best pre-school animation.

Peppa Pig episodes feature situations that are familiar to small children, including dressing up, playing games, going to playgroup, car journeys and getting ready for bed.

The stories sometimes involve a few tears but always end in snorts of laughter.

Derek Millar, Commercial Director for The Grange and Pyramids shopping centres, is thrilled at the prospect of welcoming Peppa and this time, she will be joined by her little brother George.

He said: “We thought it would be lovely to introduce a bit of fun for our shoppers and their families during half term.

“Peppa Pig is a hugely popular television character so we were expecting a big response from parents and children alike.

“Peppa first came to us three years ago but this time it is doubly exciting because we are also welcoming her little brother George too!

“For the uninitiated, Peppa Pig is a lovable but slightly bossy little pig. She is five years old and lives with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and her little brother, George in a house that sits on top of a little green hill.

“Peppa Pig likes playing with Suzy Sheep, her best friend, visiting Granny and Grandpa Pig and looking after George.

“Most of all, Peppa Pig loves jumping up and down in muddy puddles, laughing and making loud snorting noises.”

Peppa Pig and George will be at the Grange and Pyramids Centres from 11 am to 4 pm on June 6.

"At least there are people dressed in costumes rather than the rip-off official tour, where people stand on the stage holding puppets." Mike, Birkenhead around 11 months, 2 weeks ago
