Dinosaurs are set to terrify Liverpool as a major exhibition opens at the World Museum this weekend.
Age of the Dinosaur comes to the city after enjoying a successful run at London’s National History Museum, an event which attracted thousands of visitors.
It is hoped that the event, which runs from 22 October until 15 April, will attract similar numbers on its first appearance outside the capital.
The exhibition offers visitors the chance to come face-to-face with six life-size dinosaurs, each appearing in their own natural habitats.
Visitors can also expect walks beneath Jurassic waves and through a Jurassic forest, before concluding their tour in a Cretaceous desert.
Real dinosaur bones will be on display as well of a life-size replica as a T-Rex jawbone. The event will allow museum-goers to fully emerge themselves in a world that disappeared over 65-million-years-ago.
Director of World Museum Steve Judd said “This is a blockbuster show that brings alive the prehistoric world. It will be the nearest you’ll get to walking with real dinosaurs.
“This is the first chance you will get to see an exhibition of this calibre outside of London where it has already been a big hit.
“It is fantastic to bring such a dramatic spectacle to World Museum.
“Dinosaurs are very popular with our visitors and we were keen to build on that with a world class dinosaur experience.
“This will be one of the most amazing exhibitions World Museum has ever seen.”
The admission charge for Age of the Dinosaur is £6 adults, £3 children and concessions, under 5s free, £14 families.
