We all love a tea time treat and 14-year-old Jack Russell cross, Tetley, is no exception.
Staff at Dogs Trust Merseyside are urgently appealing for anyone who can ‘russell’ up a retirement home for this loveable boy to contact the re-homing centre.
Tetley first arrived at Dogs Trust over ten years ago when he was found as a stray.
He went off to be a much loved family pet but sadly his owners’ circumstances changed and they were no longer able to care for him.
Georgina Lowery, Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre Manager, said: “Tetley is a very sociable, sweet boy and is missing his home comforts.
“Some of us remember when he first arrived at Dogs Trust over ten years ago. He’s a typical Terrier and loves investigating so a securely fenced garden is a must. He’d enjoy pottering around the garden and curling up next to someone on the sofa.
“We’re keen to see him find a special home as soon as possible. We have had an influx of Terriers, mostly Jack Russell crosses, handed in at the centre recently – we currently have 15 all awaiting new homes.
“They have high energy needs so will need to go to homes with owners who can keep up with them and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep their busy minds active.”
If you think you could be tempted to offer a Terrier a second chance, please call Dogs Trust Merseyside on 0151 480 0660 or drop into the re-homing centre on Whiston Lane, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 6HP.
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and has a network of 17 Rehoming Centres in the UK and one in Dublin. The charity cares for over 16,000 stray, unwanted and abandoned dogs each year.
