A Pirate Weekend at Liverpool's Albert Dock povided two days of family fun with renactments of musket and sword fights and a pirate-hunt trail.

Centre of the action was the Brigantine ZEBU where visitors found out what it was like to sail a real pirate ship.

The main rival bands were led by "Frenchy" Hawkins privateers and Blackbeard's pirate crew.

There was muscal entertainment with sea shanties and a chance to sit in Blackbeard's Chair by paying his fearsome forfeit!

Liverpool Privateers were Captain Fortunatus Wright and William Hutchinson and notorious buccaneers from the pages of history, such as Calico Jack Rackham and Ann Bonny.
