Staff at Liverpool's Cosmopolitan Housing Association proved they can laugh at themselves when they donned curly wigs, moustaches, shell suits and hair rollers for a charity 'Scouse Day', last Thursday.
Around 50 staff got into the spirit of things to help raise over £200 for a children's orphanage in Mangalore, India.
Staff paid £5 each for a two course lunch of traditional scouse served with crusty bread and pickled cabbage, followed by apple pie or chocolate gateaux.
Diane Maddock, Cosmopolitan's Community Development Co-ordinator, who organised the event, said: "This is the fourth fundraising event we’ve organised in partnership with Halton YMCA to help pay for medical supplies for the orphanage.
"Some of our staff and volunteers from Halton YMCA have actually been out there and helped to refurbish it so we feel a very strong bond with the charity that runs it and of course the children, who are all affected by HIV and Aids.
"To date our fundraising partnership has raised over £1,500 for the orphanage and we’ve had a great laugh for a serious cause today in our rollers, curly wigs, muzzies and trackies."
