After the success of last year’s Afternoon Tea on the Green as part of the Wirral Year of Food, Port Sunlight Museum & Garden Village are taking this tea party to a beautiful new location in the heart of its charming garden village.
Get away from it all and enjoy the summertime with glorious gardens, mellow music and delectable local dishes at Port Sunlight’s Afternoon Tea in the Dell on Sunday 5th June, 2011 between 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
With excellent local rail links to Port Sunlight railway station, a mere fifteen minute journey from Liverpool or Chester will transport you to the beautiful sunken gardens of this historical village, the picturesque backdrop for your picnic.
Carol Darlington, Port Sunlight’s Marketing Manager, commented: “After the success of last year’s event we are raring to go with Afternoon Tea in the Dell.
With the finest local producers taking part, visitors will be able to pick and choose what they’d like to buy from the stalls to create their perfect picnic before settling down in our immaculate sunken gardens. With plenty of space for the kids to enjoy themselves, this truly is a great day out for the whole family”.
With free entry, this event is a great opportunity for a day out with the family. Simply bring along a picnic blanket and receive your complimentary picnic bag containing environmentally friendly cutlery, plates and napkins before picking your favourite spot on the lawn.
Award-winning local producers including the Liverpool Cheese Company, fresh strawberries and cream from Manna Foods, Cupcake Direct and The Chocolate Cellar to name a few will line up their stalls along the Dell, offering you the chance to purchase the most delicious ingredients for your summertime feast.
If you find yourself in the mood for a cuppa, newly launched tea at Port Sunlight Museum will be welcoming visitors into their ‘tea tent’ where you can treat yourself to a cup of the good stuff or even a scoop or two of Cheshire Farm’s famous ice cream from Port Sunlight Museum’s gift shop.
Arvensis, a string quarter, will provide a stunning soundtrack to this quintessential British summertime picnic where families can simply relax in the idyllic surroundings or, if you’re feeling adventurous, explore what else Port Sunlight Museum & Garden Village has to offer.
