The Liverpool St John's Wilkinson store will undergo a makeover all in time for the Grand National.
The shop, situated in St Johns Shopping Centre, will be closed on Wednesday 6th April but will re-open on Thursday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Special guests include the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Hazel Williams, Everton FC mascot, Changy the Elephant, representatives from the Bluecoat Chambers, Wilkinsons’ head of logistics, Simon Lowe, and store manager, Mark Allen.
Shoppers will be treated to a fun packed, Grand National themed event, with volunteers from Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, Anthony Nolan, running a ‘Guess the Horse’s Neigh-me’ competition, with a hamper full of quality homeware products up for grabs.
Representatives from arts & cultural centre, the Bluecoat Chambers, which provides free creative activities for families and community groups across the city, will host a craft table, where children will be able to design their own jockey silk.
A balloon modeller will also be on hand to create fantastic racehorse shaped figures for young shoppers to take home.
The fun will continue on National Day, Saturday 9th April, when a face painter will be in store from 10am – 4pm, to transform children into pretty butterflies and scary monsters, and horseracing themed cupcakes will be handed out to shoppers.
There will also be a raffle to win a giant cupcake, created by local bakers, Camp Cupcake, with all money raised going to Anthony Nolan, which helps connect leukaemia patients with donors within the region.
