A group of lean Liverpool ladies have discovered the secret to slimming... and they're not keeping mum about it!
Four mum and daughter duos are celebrating an extra special Mother's Day after dropping a whopping 20 stones between them.
The eight dedicated dieters all regularly attend the Garston Slimming World group, where the members like to keep it in the family.
Group leader Paula Kinsella said: "It's fantastic to have so many mums and daughters in class.
"Having someone to share your weigh loss journey with is important - you can keep each other on track and the support is there whenever you need it.
"Plus it makes achieving goals extra special."
The group's Woman of the Year, Andrea Laybourn attends Paula's Monday evening class with mum Carol, 55.
The 24-year-old PHD student has lost a stunning four stone and half-a-pound, while supervisory assistant Carol isn't far behind with a weight loss of three-and-a-half stone.
Following suit, childminder Angela Atherton, 41, has slimmed down by four-stone one pound, with the support of her 67-year-old mum Dot Hodson, who is now two-stone 10-pounds lighter.
Student Amy Webb, 19, has proved it is still possible to slim while enjoying a social life, having dropped two-stone two-and-a-half pounds while mum Dionne, a 48-year-old QC Unit Leader, is just half-a-pound behind with a loss of two-stone two-pounds.
Young member Eleanor Hoey is a shining example of how Slimming World can benefit under-18s.
Eleven-year-old Eleanor has been following the 'Free 2 Go' plan, which encourages children and young people to make healthier choices in their daily meals, rather than focusing on 'dieting'.
The first year Belvedere Academy pupil has lost eleven-and-a-half pounds, supported by mum Julie, 41, is now one-stone one-and-a-half pounds lighter herself.
Paula added: "I'm proud of all my members, but our youngsters like Eleanor real stars.
"Childhood obesity is an important issue and at Slimming World we're trying to tackle it in a healthy, realistic way. No food is banned on the plan - everything in moderation!
"I hope all our mums and daughters have a lovely Mother's Day and enjoy being slimmer!"
Paula's group is held on a Mondays at 9.30am, 11am, 5.30pm and 7pm at The Guide Hut, Ambergate Road, Garston. For more information, contact Paula on 07779 784 779.
