Blackburne House Education is planning to inflate people’s spirits in aid of this year’s Comic Relief: Liverpool’s Largest Red Nose will take pride of place on the front of the iconic building on Hope Street.
People from the local community are invited to come along to Blackburne House from today to help raise money for Comic Relief by sponsoring one of the 300 of balloons which will be held inside the giant Red Nose on the front of Blackburne House. The balloons will be released at 3pm of Red Nose Day and there is a three course dinner for two up for grabs at the Cafe Bar for the balloon which travels the furthest distance.
Claire Dove, Chief Executive of Blackburne House said: “Comic Relief is a fantastic charity and one we are thrilled to support.
"Their mission to make a sustainable difference in the world is something we hold dear at Blackburne House Education. Many women come to us who want to make a positive change in their lives and we work very hard in helping them make this a reality.
"Our attempt to create Liverpool’s largest Red Nose is an example of the many ways we engage with our neighbours to make our community a better place to live and work, whilst raising money for this amazing charity.”
All of the staff and students at Blackburne House Education will be doing something funny for money with a sponsored fancy dress.
Blackburne House has also teamed up with their neighbours on Hope Street to offer two fantastic fundraisers some great prizes for taking part in their other competitions.
Sponsorship of one of Liverpool’s Largest Red Nose balloons is 50p and entry for each of the competitions is £1 with all proceeds raised going to Comic Relief.
