To celebrate Disney on Ice coming to the Echo Arena next month, Click Liverpool are offering one lucky reader the chance to winner a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) to see the show.
In an original story, Disney On Ice presents a Disneyland Adventure which invites audiences to relive their fondest Disneyland memories, as they join favourite characters and classic villains on a colourful and exciting vacation to the theme park, making it a fun-filled event for the whole family.
Produced by Feld Entertainment, this adventure will feature an array of favourite Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Baloo, Disney Princesses Snow White and Cinderella, along with Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles and Buzz Lightyear.
In this spectacular production, the “Fabs” — Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto - decide to take a vacation of their own and enjoy Disney’s most popular theme park attractions. Donald and Goofy attempt to join in the fun, resulting in a series of comical mishaps. But it’s no laughing matter when the evil fairy Maleficent shows up to spoil the fun, and Mickey must enlist The Incredibles to help save the day!
From dazzling skating moves to amazing lighting and vibrant costumes, this production is designed to capture the fun, nostalgic atmosphere of Disneyland in the early 1960s.
Director Patty Vincent drew upon her own memories and experiences to provide a landscape for the show. She said: “I went to Disneyland for research, and I wanted to show audiences its finer details—the lamp posts, the flower pots, the pretty benches—as well as how families experience the park and interact with one another.
“Being at the park turned me into a kid again, and I wanted to give everyone in our audience that same feeling.”
Creative Director Jerry Bilik sought to capture favourite memories from the Disney parks, but added new twists by incorporating Maleficent and The Incredibles.
Bilik said: “This show is designed for people of all ages.
“Interwoven into the parade of attractions and characters are moments of subtle humour for adults, physical comedy and interaction for children, groovy music, and some creepy thrills that the entire family will enjoy.”
