Proud tenants of John Willis House sheltered housing scheme in Rock Ferry, Wirral, presented a cheque for £250 to Macmillan Cancer Support on Monday.
Tenants got baking and then sold their home made cakes at two coffee morning held in October. Money raised from cake sales coupled with donations from both residents and helpers totalled £250.
Tenant Maria Ashcroft and John Scott presented the cheque to Gillian Wilson, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support at the scheme.
Scheme Manager Julie Gledhill, said: “The response from tenants and family here has been tremendous. They managed to raise this much money over just two coffee mornings and they’ve donated 100% of any money made from cake sales to Macmillan today.
"The tenants here feel they get so much in terms of services etc and they really just wanted to give something back. It’s a real family atmosphere here at John Willis House and we’ve had great fun doing this together, role on next year!”
John Willis House is owned and managed by Cosmopolitan Housing Association with support to tenants provided by Liverpool Personal Services Society (PSS).
