If a sensational selection of family treats is on your Christmas list this year, then come down to the Albert Dock and experience the magic of the festive season; with sparkling new Christmas lighting, decorations, festive animations and a very special new tenant!

From the 18th November to 3rd January the Albert Dock will be hosting a unique Santa’s Sorting Office on The Colonnades to make sure children can get their wish lists to Santa via the Albert Dock sorting office’s team of merry elves.

The Albert Dock tenants came up with the idea following the adverse weather conditions last Christmas, which added extra pressure to the UK postal system. To make sure this doesn’t happen again, the tenants have invited Santa’s team of elves to set up a postal hub to make sure all letters get to the North Pole in plenty of time: Santa’s Sorting Office will be in Liverpool collecting your letters until 13th December, so make sure that your little ones get down to the Dock to get their letters to Santa.

From the 18th November, special Santa’s Sorting Office Post Boxes and special letter pads will appear at venues across the Dock so children can write down and post their Christmas wish lists for free. And look out each weekend for a cheeky pair of elves who will be having fun around the Dock. See if you can spot them skipping around the Quayside.

The Albert Dock has also teamed up with the NSPCC to raise money for the Safe Place Appeal. As well as being able to freely write your letter to Santa, if you make a £5 donation to the NSPCC, Santa will write back to you! In addition many of the restaurants, cafés and bars around the Dock will be offering a Dine and Donate opportunity in aid of The NSPCC’s Safe Place Appeal.

Jeremy Roberts, Chair of the Albert Dock Tenants’ Business Association said: “Albert Dock invites you to come down with the family to see Santa’s Sorting Office on the Colonnades.

"You can watch the elves hard at work sorting out the Christmas lists and spot them around the Dock each weekend.

"Our tie-in with the NSPCC means that we can support The Safe Place Appeal, working with local families during the festive season. It also adds the option of Santa writing back!

"The Sorting Office together with new lighting features and Christmas trees across the Dock means it will be a great place for all the family over the Christmas period."

The Albert Dock tenants are also delighted to have invested in a new Christmas Tree located in Britannia courtyard as well as new decorations across the inner quay. In addition Albert Dock Liverpool has teamed up with Liverpool ONE to create an amazing new illuminated entrance, designed by the celebrated lighting designer James Glancy.

Remember the Albert Dock is a great place to cater for all your Christmas needs. With brilliant shops and cosy cafes it truly is the perfect place for your Christmas shopping. Why not head on over to Nauticalia, which is great for high-tech gadgets and gifts perfect for Dad or you could pay Liverpool Pictures a visit for an array of iconic local artwork. And if you’re arranging your Christmas party the Dock has plenty of options and promotions for you.

So for shopping, family entertainment and a bit of festive wining and dining don’t miss the Albert Dock’s Christmas programme.
