Seven world-class pyrotechnic companies will once again battle it out to win this year’s British Musical Fireworks Championships in Southport – England’s Classic Resort.
The skies above the town will be awash with colour and sound during the Championships on Kings Gardens overlooking the Marine Lake from Friday to Sunday, October 1-3.
The 12th annual Championships will see more than 40,000 people flock to Southport to see two companies give displays on Friday, three on the Saturday and two on Sunday.
This year’s three-day extravaganza starts Friday 1st Oct, with Flashpoint Fireworks who will be looking to defend their title and Anytime Fireworks. On Saturday Pyrotex Fireworx, Ashdown Fireworks and Pendragon Fireworks will be lighting up and on Sunday Pyro 2000 and Fantastic Fireworks will entertain the crowds.
Event organiser Sarah Carter, said: “The British Musical Fireworks Championships is one of the highlights of our events programme. It’s a great family event with seven top class pyrotechnic companies battling it out with eye-catching displays choreographed to music which can range from anything from classical to rock.”
Representatives from the seven companies have already visited Southport to see the firing location, meet the judges and learn about the rules and regulations of the Championships.
Advance tickets are on sale at Southport Tourist Information Centre, Lord Street, telephone 01704 533333 or visit www.visitsouthport.com and cost £4 on Friday and Sunday and £6 for Saturday. Tickets on the gate are £6 for Friday and Sunday and £8 on Saturday.
Seated tickets in advance are £15 for Friday and Sunday and £20 on Saturday. Under 5s are free and the gates open at 7pm.
