Head along Mondays to Fridays between 11:00am and 5:00pm. All comrades are welcome!
Robbie Davison, Director of Can Cook, said: “We are really excited about inviting the public to come and explore our brand new Pop-Up Kitchen on Bold Street and show them what Can Cook does. As well as sampling our cookery courses, the Pop-Up Kitchen is a great place for people to get excited about food again.
"We want the Kitchen to kick off Liverpool’s Cookery Revolution and get everyone’s taste buds going!”
The Pop-Up Kitchen houses eight state-of-the-art cookery stations, as well as a chef’s demonstration area kitted out with Belling and Lec equipment, donated by Glen Dimplex Home Appliances.
Featuring daily live demonstrations from Can Cook’s resident chefs, Tony, Richie and Alex, the Pop-Up Kitchen is offering free 30 minute cookery sessions to the public, where they can cook along with the chefs before enjoying what they’ve whipped up. Whether it’s a Thai green curry, courgette risotto, or chicken and lentil curry, Can Cook will give you all the know-how you need to get cooking at home with confidence.
As well as offering free taster cookery sessions, the Pop-Up Kitchen is inviting the public to show them who’s boss by making the perfect omelette and competing for a special prize in Omelette Challenge! The Omelette Challenge leader board will display the best of the best before inviting the finalists for a Pop-Up Kitchen Cook Off, where one lucky winner will take home a voucher for two places on a Can Cook Studio A-Z Weekend course worth over £200!
Can Cook Studio is a 20 place professional cookery school, based in the Matchworks in Speke, specialising in evening and weekend courses in a variety of cuisines including Thai, Chinese, Italian and Indian.
The Pop-Up Kitchen’s summer stay in the heart of the City centre has been obtained for a period of five weeks, in partnership with Liverpool City Council’s Shops Upfront initiative and Mere Park Property Development, which has been facilitated by commercial property advisors CBRE.
Shop’s Upfront was established by Liverpool City Council to enable artists and entrepreneurs to access empty high street retail units and transform them with creative displays.
Councillor Wendy Simon, Cabinet Member for Culture and Tourism, said: “Shops Upfront is a brilliant idea as it allows our creative sector to help businesses ride through the recession and vice versa, while adding a vibrant dash of colour to the high street – so it’s a win-win for everyone!
"There’s some fantastic ideas in the Shops Upfront pipeline and I’m delighted we’re supporting the Can Cook revolution – a true home grown success story and anything that promotes healthy eating in such a fun and accessible way is a real boost to Liverpool’s Year of Health and Wellbeing."
Can Cook’s Pop-Up Kitchen will open its doors to the public on Thursday 22nd July at 12 noon and will be open Monday to Friday from 11:00am until 5:00pm.
