
This Mother’s Day, The Maritime Dining Rooms are offering your mum the chance to be in the company of some of her biggest idols.
The stunning Albert Dock restaurant, Located on the fourth floor of the Merseyside Maritime Museum, will be offering a delicious five course Mothering Sunday menu for £17.95 per person, set within a mini-exhibition, celebrating classic movie stars and their journeys on the high seas.
‘The Golden Age of Ocean Travel’ features a stunning 24-piece selection of images of ships, passengers and celebrities on board famous liners. It means your mum can enjoy fine food with the likes of Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor and Bing Crosby!
The alternative approach to Mother’s Day means mums can enjoy a little culture while being treated to an amazing choice of dishes, including smoke haddock fish cake, roast pork and caramelised apple and a legendary toffee apple fool.
The exhibition is free for diners to enjoy, and is part of the restaurants new plans to incorporate some maritime themed art in to their dining experience.
Julie Ehlen, Director of Trading at National Museums Liverpool, said: “We are delighted to be offering this free exhibition to our visitors, it’s a great opportunity to combine some iconic imagery with amazing food.
"We hope people come and see the pieces and enjoy them, there’s some rare images of legendary movie stars, so we are confident it will be a great success.”
Located on the fourth floor of the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the restaurant opened their doors last year. Since then, it has become one of only three restaurants within the city to receive the honour of being entered into the Michelin Guide for 2010. It also boasts the acolode of being the only museum based restaurant in the North of England to feature in the guide.
