Pantastic!

Partaking in some window shopping around the Albert Dock on a Saturday afternoon has always been a favourite passtime of mine but when this reviewer was asked to try out the new menu at Pan Am she found it very easy to tear herself away from the hundreds of souvenir shops - well for a little while at least!

As soon as we arrived (after literally being blown in through the door) we were greeted by the kind and gracious bar manager and equally friendly waitress.

I started with the crispy pork loin which was delightfully tasty and filling.

My partner opted for the scallops which were cooked to perfection and very flavourful.

Next I opted for the pan-fried sea bass with vegetables.

The best part of this dish was the way that the fish quite simply melted on my tongue as I devoured it.

My partner elected for the duo of duck (two different cuts of the same duck) and certainly wasn’t disappointed.

The combination worked very well together, the duck was nice and juicy and the orange and wine sauce complemented it perfectly.

We found it very difficult to choose a dessert from the extensive list but didn’t need to as the waitress cooked a crepe suzette right at our table before we even had the chance to say chocolate tart or citrus cheesecake please.

The over-all experience at the Pan Am was wonderful and hard to fault.

The service was conscientious, without being irritating.

The food was highly pleasing and we would definitely go back to try some of the other delightful meals on the lovely menu.
