In terms of location, the Novetel Liverpool Centre Hotel’s really could not be any better.
You are a minute’s walk away from the city’s shopping areas, a ten-minute walk to Castle Street and five minutes from the Bold Street/Hardman Street areas.
This hotel would make the perfect base for anyone wanting to explore everything that Liverpool city centre has to offer. You may even be lucky enough to find a room with a view of the Albert Dock and the Liverpool Eye!
The hotel features its own bar and restaurant that cannot be missed. In the evening, they are busy without being rowdy so great for bringing a family.
Check-in was simple, with the staff very welcoming at what is clearly a very busy hotel, it was explained to us that the hotel was full on this particular evening.
A slight concern – rightly or wrongly – was that the Novotel may suffer from noise pollution with its central locations surrounded by bars and restaurants as well as being on the through-route to Concert Square area of the city.
Thankfully this concern was completely unfounded, I did not hear one noise from outside at any point during our stay.
The rooms are very spacious, surprisingly given the location of the hotel. Often very central hotels offer smaller rooms however this is absolutely not the case.
Decorated to a high standard, the rooms are very modern and simplistic but it is clear that no expense has been spared while the bathroom was modern and spacious.
I love a good bathroom – it’s important! And this lives up to expectations. I particularly liked the separate toilet – great if you are room sharing.
The beds were incredibly comfortable and provided us with an excellent nights sleep. No noise, no disruptions – somewhat of a rarity in a busy Liverpool city centre hotel on a Friday night.
The hotel has a pool and spa area which are reasonably sized given that the hotel is in such a central location.
I did not have time to use the pool but it looked to be of a very high standard and is a very nice amenity to have.
Right by the pool is a kids area with games, dress up and all the things kids love!
This is a really nice touch and it’s great to see a hotel actively encouraging family stays and the ability to keep the kids entertained outside of the room.
Breakfast at the hotel was good – it was a tiny bit disorganised and this could be due to the number of guests.
When we did engage with the service staff they were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is to a good standard given the number of people staying at the hotel.
I understand fresh breakfast items could be ordered on request but chose not to do this. The quality of the breakfasts was excellent and I did notice gluten-free options which is always good.
Overall this hotel seems to have overcome many of the issues that very central hotels suffer from.
It has everything you would want, an excellent location, comfort, amenities and a really good breakfast.
This is a hotel I would recommend, particularly for those wanting a quiet hotel in the centre of the city!
