One of Liverpool’s most exclusive venues, Knowsley Hall, is opening it’s doors to invite the public to an extra special signature afternoon tea.
Steeped in the rich history, and based on the stories of visiting Artist and Illustrator, Edward Lear, diners are treated to the height of luxury and fine dining.
For the price of £60pp you are able to indulge in an outstanding afternoon tea experience within the walls of Knowsley Hall. From the very first entrance you are transported in to grandeur and elegance with a hint of the whimsical. The afternoon tea is inspired by The Owl and The Pussy Cat written by Edward Lear at Knowsley Hall.
The rich history of the hall and it’s connection to Edward Lear are not only explored within the afternoon tea but are displayed on the walls with lucky attendees able to catch a glimpse of some original works positioned around the hall.
The afternoon tea begins with a tincture cocktail. They are served in small vintage bottles and you are given control over the intensity of flavour you prefer for your cocktail. There are also non-alcoholic versions of the cocktails available.
You are the provided with a beautifully presented traditional afternoon tea made of savouries, a choice of sweet or savoury scones and an assortment of stunning pastries and cakes, some of which are adorned with the Owl and Pussy Cat which this afternoon tea is a tribute to.
Included in the experience is a choice of 12 premium teas. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and are happy to guide you and refill as often as you wish. At an additional cost there are Knowsley Hall cocktails that have been developed by the halls in-house mixologist Megan Clarke.
Whilst indulging in your afternoon tea, you will also have the benefit of live music. At the time of our attending it was a string quartet who played beautifully whilst we took in our surroundings and afternoon tea.
